Hi, does Slimbrowser provide a Profiles Feature like "Firefox.exe -P"?

I just want to use this to put data folder and especially cache to a ramdisk to not torture my harddisk so much, also having ram and data folder in ram makes browsing much faster. Maybe there is another way to achieve this?

(Yes, I could copy whole program to ram, but there are other things and every MB counts, especially on old notebooks, so I just want the disk writes go to ram)

This is also the reason I would like to reduce the cache folder to a max. size of 5M, maybe even better only 1M - but Slimbrowser does not accept values below 50MB - could you please change this so it would be possible to reduce unneccessary cache size (on a fast internet connection cache could also be put of completely).

Thanks for your attention.

BTW a search for "data folder" is not possible with this forum, maybe you would like to adjust your forum software settings to not exclude important words.

Just now I see, that there is Slimbrowser and slimboat - I am actually using Slimboat, but same questions may apply, so I open another thread for slimboat.

you can move the entire tree or any folder(s) to RAM and then link it with a hard symbolic link

on my box it is here
C:\Users\[CURRENTUSER]\AppData\Roaming\SlimBrowser

you can find the data folder on your box by clicking
Tools:Folder Shortcuts:Slimbrowser Data Folder

this is not a Slimbrowser action it will be an OS action

the link below, read down the page a bit, explains how to make a hard symbolic link and how to move the data folder

Hi,

hardlinks may be a good workaround, but it would be much better if the browser would support profiles and support the freedom of putting user data wherever you want.

Also reduction of cache is not solved with this - however, thanks for your attention.

I will put these important features in the feature wish list board.

Cache settings are based on the version of Internet Explorer that you have installed on your system and they have nothing to do with Slimbrowser settings.

By going to Internet Options and clicking the Settings button for the temporary files you can place the cache folder in RAM and you can adjust the cache to the smallest size allowable by Internet Explorer which should be 8 MB.
