Post subject: Finding the View option
PostPosted: Tue Nov 12, 2013 9:31 am
While testing some View options, I found my side and top screens clogged with all kind of stuff I didn't need (like command lists etc). No problem, I thought, I'll return to the View options, uncheck things and then......But where is the View option?? I can;'t find your list of view options or anything else on that helpful list.

Looked all over. Can you tell me how to get back to those options?

Many thanks

Harry Rolnick

I think you might have toggled Compact Mode. Which reduces the toolbar stuff across the top of the screen rather a lot. I'm NOT going to go into Compact Mode to verify the following instruction because it re-arranges my toolbars coming back out of it, so I have to tell you from my fuzzy memory.

There is a clicky thing on the top right corner of the SB window where you should be able to click and drop down the items found on the Menu Bar. One of those items will be the View menu which you should be able to navigate once you've found how to drop it down.

If Compact Mode is not your problem you may have told the Menu Bar to go away. In which case you must use the keyboard to toggle it back. Ctrl + F10

I use Compact Mode, and can confirm that there is indeed a View menu on the 'clicky thing' - an excellent technical term BTW! It has a small spanner on it, and I've moved mine to the left corner, so presumably it could be anywhere, but am not going to try moving it for the same reason!

Reading from top to bottom the options are - File, Edit, View, Language, Groups, Quickfill, Tools, Window, Help.
