Adobe Flash Player 10 BETA - do not use with SB!

Postby Hans on Sat Jul 05, 2008 12:55 pm

It has come to my attention that some people have installed and are using Adobe® Flash® Player 10, code-named "Astro". While most (some?) beta software is perfectly fine to use, it appears that even the latest beta of Flash still has some serious issues with Internet Explorer (IE7) and causes pages that are Flash-heavy to crash the browser.

Until Adobe officially releases Adobe® Flash® Player 10 (and it's no longer in beta status), I recommend people to use Adobe® Flash® Player 9.0.124.0, which is stable and fully released.

If, for some reason you need it, you can obtain the full offline download of Flash 9.0.115.0 here. Some people have reported issues with Flash 9.0.124.0, and the previous build works better for them.

To check your version, go to Control Panel -> Uninstall a programs (Vista) or Add/Remove Programs (XP and Vista Classic interface), then look for the Adobe Flash Player ActiveX and Adobe Flash Player Plugin entries.
