Automatic new tab or not

Right now, SlimBrowser has the default option of automatically creating a new tab when you enter an address from the address bar and press ENTER or select an item from favorites. This saves you the trouble of having to manually create a new tab first and then enter the address. If you would like to reuse the current tab, you can use hold down SHIFT key. The downside of this configuration is that you might end up opening more tabs than necessary without being fully aware of it.

This behavior is different from most other browsers. So users who switch from other browsers might need a little time getting used to this new behavior. Personally, I like the current default in SlimBrowser since it's more efficient. But I would like to probe the opinions of more users. Please feel free to share your comments on what should be the best option for you.

I use IE at work and I find it annoying to have to create a new tab before navigating to a website so that I don't lose the website of the first tab.

So my vote is for retaining the current default behaviour.
