Menu Functions
Some self-explanatory menu items are not listed here. You can hover mouse
over those menu items and see brief help information shown on the browser status
bar.
File Menu
- New Tab
Open a new tab which might go to blank page, home page or tabs page
based on the option you choose in options:new tab.
- New
- Blank Site
Open a blank site in a new window
- Home Page
Open home page in a new window
- Duplicate Current Site
Open the address of the active page in a new window
- From Address in Clipboard
Open the address in clipboard in a new window
- Separate Session
Create a new tab in separate session. A separate session won't share
login status and cookies with the other session. For example, you can log
into the same website with different accounts in separate sessions.
- Recently Close Sites
Show the list of recently closed sites. You can select any one of them
to re-open it. Select "Clear this list" to clear this history list.
- Restore Sites Open In Last Session
Restore the sites that were open when SlimBrowser was closed in last
session.
- New Browser
Open a new browser main window
- Hide Browser
Hide the main browser window.
- Save As
Save the active page including pictures
- Save Without Picture
Save the active page excluding pictures
- Save Screenshot
Save a screenshot in JPG format of the current web page.
- Close All
Close all sites including hidden sites.
- Close All But Current
Close all sites except the active one
- Close All & Start New Session
Close all sites and start a fresh session with a new rendering process.
Tip: This option can help release all the memory used by the
rendering process without restarting the browser when the process model is
set to "one process per session".
- Close Tabs
- Close Tabs on the Left
Close all tabs on the left of the current tab.
- Close Tabs on the Right
Close all tabs on the right of the current tab.
- Close Tabs from this Domain
Close all tabs belong to the same domain as the current tab.
- Close All Blank & Failed Sites
Close all sites which are blank
or in error like page not found.
Edit Menu
- Paste & Go
Directly open the address in clipboard.
- Select All
When the current site is an http site, this menu item will highlight
the entire web page. When it's an ftp site or a local directory, this menu
item will highlight all the files and directories displayed.
- Search in Current Site
Search for keywords within all the cached web pages belonging to the
current domain in the default search engine defined for the quick-search
box.
- Undo Last Close
Re-open last closed site
- Undo Last Close All
Re-open all sites before your last close-all operation.
- Check Spell
Check the spell of the text inside the text boxes or text areas within
the active web page.
View Menu
- Compact Mode
In compact mode, SlimBrowser display a mini menu button instead of the
full menu bar. Selecting this menu item will switch SlimBrowser between the
compact mode and advanced mode.
- Toolbars
- Internet Explorer Toolbars: List all the available toolbars
for Internet Explorer.
- Built-in Toolbars
List all the installed Built-in
Toolbars.
- Rebuild All Bars: Rebuild all built-in toolbars to
reflect changes in the toolbar source files.
- Menu Bar
- Mini Menu Button
Displays a mini menu button from which you can access the full menu
as a drop down menu.
- System Bar
- Standard Toolbar
- Address Bar
- Quick-Search Bar
- Links
- Favorites: Show favorite shortcuts on a horizontal toolbar.
- Utilities:
Show the Utilities toolbar which contain shortcuts within
the utilities subfolder of Application Data
Folder.
- Site Tab
- Site Tab Style
- Place On Top: Place the tab bar on the top
- Place On Bottom: Place the tab bar on the bottom
- Button Style: Display the site tab in button style
- Tab Style: Display the site tab in tab style
- Multiline Mode: Allow the site tabs to be displayed on
multiple lines
- Show Icon: Display icon on the site tab
- Organize Quick-Search Engine: Organize Quick-Search entries
in the Favorite left pane by using drag and drop.
- Clean Quick-Search History: Clean the history on the
quick-search bar.
- Lock Toolbars: Lock the toolbars so that they can't be
moved.
- Custom Standard Toolbar...: add/remove buttons on the
standard toolbar or custom its style
- Explorer Bars

- ScriptPad:
Toggle the visibility of the
ScriptPad.
- Download Manager: Toggle the visibility of the download
manager window.
- Hide Site
Hide the current open site. You are able to recover it in Hidden Sites
dialog.
- Hidden Sites
Activate a dialog to view and manage all hidden
sites. These sites may be manually hidden by user or automatically hidden by
the popup killer.
- Stop All
Stop the connection of all sites
- Refresh All
Refresh all the sites
- Auto Refresh
- Every xxx seconds: auto-refresh the active page every xxx
seconds.
- Set Period...: auto-refresh the active page with specified
period
- Auto Refresh All Pages: auto-refresh all open pages with the
same period
- Stop All: stops all pages from being auto-refreshed
- Lock Tab
Lock a tab so that it won't be closed when you carry
out a "Close All" operation
- Zoom
- Zoom In: Increase the zooming scale of the active page.
- Zoom Out: Decrease the zooming scale of the active page.
- Actual Size: Show the active page in the original size
- Set As Default Zoom Level: Set the zoom level of the active
page as the default zoom level for all web pages. To restore the default
zoom level to 100%, select "Actual Size" to set the zoom level of the
active page to 100% and then select "Set As Default Zoom Level".
- Skins
- Disable Skin
Restore SlimBrowser to the plain appearance
with no skin.
- Select Skins...
Apply the selected skin to SlimBrowser.
Refer to the section [Skins].
- Online Skin List
Visit the online skin collection on
FlashPeak website.
- View Source
View the source code of the active page
- Privacy Report
View privacy report of the active page.
- Full Screen
Switch SlimBrowser into full screen mode. Press F11 to switch it back.
Favorites Menu
- Add To Favorites
Add a link to the active page into the favorites folder.
- Quick Bookmark
Directly add the active page as a favorite link inside the predefined
quick-bookmark folder without any dialog prompt.
- Manager Favorites
- Organize Favorites
Open the a dialog for you to organize all the favorite links.
- Import Favorites
Import Favorites from a bookmark file.
- Export Favorites
Export Favorites to a bookmark file.
- Search Favorites
Search for favorites item in favorites
folder.
- Change Quick Bookmark Folder
Set the folder to store favorite links added via Quick-Bookmark.
Language Menu
- Translate Settings
Change settings for automatic translation of web pages or selected text.
The settings include the source language, target language, etc. In most
cases, you should be able to set the source language as "Detect Language" so
that you can translate from different languages into your own native
language without changing any setting. However, if the source language can't
be detected automatically, please select a specific source language to
ensure correct translation.
- Translate Current Page
Translate the active page from the
predefined source language into the predefined target language.
- Translate Selected Text
Translate selected text in the active page from the predefined source
language into the predefined target language. Please select a piece of text
first before selecting the menu item.
- Auto Translate Selection
Automatically translate any selected in the active page from the
predefined source language into the predefined target language. Translation
is done whenever you select a piece of text and release your mouse button.
- Interface Language
Select the interface language of
SlimBrowser. The effect is immediate. No need to restart SlimBrowser.

Tools Menu
- Set As Default Browser
Set SlimBrowser as the default browser.
- Facebook
- Share My Status
Write whatever is on your mind and post it onto your facebook wall.
- Share This Page
Share the current page on facebook.
- Share Selected Text
Share selected text within the current page on facebook
- Share This Page
Share the current page on various web services.
- Mail and News
All the registered email clients are listed at the bottom of this
sub-menu.
- Internet Explorer Add-ons
Enable add-ons designed for Internet Explorer. Please bear in mind that
most add-ons designed for Internet Explorer are NOT compatible with
SlimBrowser. This menu section is only provided just in case if you really
want to use an IE add-on with SlimBrowser. You can try it out to see if it
works. If it doesn't work or cause crashes, please select it again to
disable it.
- Browser Extensions
Shows all the browser extension add-ons for Internet Explorer installed
on your computer. Selecting one of them will enable SlimBrowser to load the
selected add-on.
- Browser Helper Objects
Shows all the browser helper object
(BHO) add-ons for Internet Explorer installed on your computer. Selecting
one of them will enable SlimBrowser to load the selected add-on.
- Open with Internet Explorer
Open the current page in Internet Explorer.
- Download Manager
Open the download manager side pane.
- View History
Open the browser history side pane.
- Popup Blocker
- Restore Blocked Popups
Restore blocked popup windows from the
active tab.
- Always Allow Popups from This Site
Add the domain name of the
active tab into the allow list of popup blocker.
- Edit Allow List
Edit the allow list of popup blocker.
- Edit Block List
Edit the block list of popup blocker.
- Enable Popup Blocker
Enable the built-in popup killer to
automatically block popup windows.
- Ad Blocker
- Enable Ad Blocker
Enable Ad Blocker. Ad Blocker blocks Ad
components within web pages based on URL matching. Learn more about
Ad Blocker.
- Ad Blocker Options
- Download Control
By default, all the options below are turned
on. You can turn off some of them for higher speed or tighter
security. Please note that the following download control options only apply
to the active page. For default download control options which apply to all
sites, change them in the
options
dialog. In the following menu items, (Global) means that the option
applies to IE and any IE-based browsers. (Apply to All) means the
option applies to all the site windows currently open in SlimBrowser.

- Automatically shrink uploaded photos on current site
Enable automatic photo shrinking to save upload time on the domain of
the active tab.
- Photo Processing Options
- Compatibility Settings (Available only on IE8 or later)
Dynamically switch the rendering mode of the current page. By default,
SlimBrowser will apply the highest rendering mode on a web page. If it is
not displayed correctly, you might applying a lower rendering mode which is
provided to support web pages designed for older version of Internet
Explorer.

- Edit User Compatibility View List...
When you apply a specific rendering mode on a website, SlimBrowser will
automatically add the domain-mode association into the user compatibility
view list. This menu item will let you edit the user compatibility view list
manually.
- Enable Microsoft Compatibility View List
Enable the compatibility view list provided by Microsoft. This option
should be left on for most users.

- Clean Address Bar History
Clean the URL ever typed into the address box
- Clean Quick-Search History
Clean the keyword history on the
quick-search bar.
- Clean History
Clean browser history
- Clean Cookies
Clean all cached cookies.
- Clean Icon Cache
Clean the icon cache folder under SlimBrowser data folder.
- Clean Cached Files
Clean all pages, images and other files in cache.
- Clean Preselected Items
Clean items preselected in the privacy
page of the options dialog.
- Clean All Trace
Clean everything including history, cookies and cached files.
- Auto Lock Browser
When this option is enabled, SlimBrowser will be automatically
locked if there is no user activity on the computer for a certain length
of time. You need enter the master password to unlock the browser.
- Set Master Password...
Set the master password. The master password is used to protect
your privacy regarding SlimBrowser usage. You need enter your master
password for authentication when you want to unlock the browser after
it's auto-locked due to long-time idleness, or if you want to use the
autologin entries when autologin password protection is enabled.
- Proxies
- Organize Proxies
Organize the list of pre-defined proxies
- Disable Proxy
Disable the use of proxy without clearing
information about proxy server address and port.
- The List of Proxies
Select any of the pre-defined proxy to
set it as the current proxy
- Alias Definitions
- Assigned Site Names

Open SlimBrowser options dialog.
- Reset all settings
Reset all the program settings. Personal data won't be affected.
- Internet Options
Open Internet Explorer options dialog. This
menu item has the same function as the
tools->internet options in Internet Explorer.
- Folder Shortcuts
Shortcuts to frequently used shell
folders. For information regarding application data folder and its
subfolders, please click here.

Re-associate pre-defined file types
