False alarm about trojan / virus in SlimBrowser

Post by flashpeak » Sun Aug 29, 2004 12:38 pm

From time to time, some antivirus products might raise a false alarm about virus or trojan in either the SlimBrowser setup file or the actual installed executable files. We always make sure SlimBrowser is free of any viruses or malware. If you happen to see such detection warning raised by your antivirus software, rest assured that it is a false alarm if the setup file is correctly signed by FlashPeak's digital certificate. Please also report such false alarms to us immediately via the built-in online feedback menu in SlimBrowser. We will contact the antivirus software vendor to resolve the false detection issue. You can also try update the virus definition of your antivirus software to see if the warning goes away.

If the setup file or the main executable files (sbframe.exe and sbrender.exe) no longer has a valid signing certificate associated with FlashPeak Inc, it means the files have been modified by unauthorized parties or programs. In this case, don't use it. Instead, download the latest version from our official website http://www.slimbrowser.net and install it again.
