AVG says SBrowser.exe (4.11) has virus!?

Post by Eagle_Kiwi » Thu Jul 09, 2009 5:21 pm

Just for the record... I've had version 4.11 Build 009 here, and suddenly yesterday my daily AVG run flagged it as "Trojan horse sHeur2.APWL".

The file is sbrowser.exe size 1,785,856 bytes.
I sent this to AVG suggesting it may be a False Positive - they've replied that it's NOT, it's a genuine virus warning.

Anyway, I've now reinstalled SB, now 4.12 Build 005 (exe size 1,975,296) and AVG hasn't complained about that. :-)

yes i got it too last night too. It's in the virus vault but i used another browser to download another copy of SB , then uninstalled the current installed version and just waited on the scanner to finish. it found nothing else. wondering if its something to do with the latest AVG update........

It's a false positive, it's happened before. You can safely ignore it, there is no virus in SlimBrowser. Image
