I have just come across this browser and am hoping it might be an alternative to Opera now that they have lost their way. I am currently using ver 12.16 in Windows 8.1.

I have had a search through this forum but cannot find the answer.

I have successfully imported the bookmarks from Opera in html format but cannot find where they are stored in SB. I do not want them to be on the system drive.

I have a 1000 or so bookmarks nested 2 to 4 layers deep. I have seen that you can sort individual ones but it does not carry on through the layers. Is it possible to do this please.

Regards

David

the default location for Favorites is:
C:\Users\[USERNAME]\Favorites

You can organize favorites using the program functionality by clicking:
Favorites:Organize Favorites

You can move the favorites off of the local drive by installing SB to a drive other than the local drive and selecting this option:
Tools:Options:Misc: [CheckBox] Store Data and Settings (including favorites) in Program Folder

most of the file locations and other important folders can be accessed by clicking:
Tools:Folder Shortcuts...

Thank you for your reply. Unfortunately I do not see the options you mention.

I have found the Favourites under the username but no option to move them anywhere.

I am using ver 1.148

there is no obvious feature to use favorites from a location other than the default

however, the "standalone" feature of the program allows you to store all the program related data including favorites in the same folder location as the Program is installed to. This means that if you install the program to a location other than your system drive, such as a flash drive or other removable drive, you can make use of the standalone feature to remove your favorites from the local drive.

I should have caught that with your first post stating the version. Duh on me.

Anyway I move the post now and you should be aware my answers so far may not apply to Slimboat.

No worries - I can be just as guilty of doing that.

It has given me the opportunity to look at SlimBrowser of which I was not aware but not sure if I like it as much.

If anyone else has experience with Slimboat I would welcome some help.

Watch for Slimjet to come out pretty soon-ish. It should be better than both Slimboat and Slimbrowser.
