Hi there,

I have been using SlimBoat for about a month now and I'm really satisfied with it. It's close to the user experience of Opera in its early stages (now it has become a Chrome-clone, unfortunately). Another thing I really like is its resource-efficiency. Even though some sites (like Facebook) are slower using SlimBoat, it consumes almost three times less memory than Chrome or Firefox. This is my first post on this forum, I would like to start off with sharing my ideas about how SlimBoat could be even better. :) This is the first one. 8)

Problem: Lot of sites apply a bunch of unnecessary eye-candy animations and transition effects that require a lot of CPU (and even GPU) to render. This means higher power comsumption during everyday use. In my personal opinion, I feel sick of bloated websites that have more design / chrome / eye-candy than functionality. This is definitely good for marketing purposes but not for everyday use.

Solution (feature): There should be a custom view (like a custom stylesheet but more like a preset) that is easily accessible, universal for all websites and keeps the placing, size and dimensions of designed elements but removes all the eye-candy effects, making it appear as simple and as minimal-designed as possible.
