HTTPS pages not served

Post by gklekeas » Sat Jul 17, 2010 1:53 pm

On my Windows 7 system (tested with XP as well) and IE8 installed, when I upgrade to the latest version all https pages simply do not open. In version 4, everything else equal, they open fine. Any ideas?

Regards,
George

I guess it might be related to something else. I can use Bank of America or Gmail over https just fine. I couldn't produce the same problem you guys mentioned.

Any error messages? Can you share your configuration information here (Select help->configuration information) ?

Do you have any firewall application installed? Like zone alarm, symantec, etc? Sometimes the firewall programs block Slimbrowser from accessing internet without prompting when you install a new version. You have to explicitly allow it again from within the firewall app.

I've been getting a few reports from users complaining about not being able to log into http sites with V5.0. I can't produce the same problem so far on a couple of different systems. If anybody can provide any tips, that will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks a lot.

I ventured some guesses and created a special test version at this link: http://slimbrowser.flashpeak.com/tmp/sbsetup_ni.exe . Can you try it out and see whether it makes any differences for you guys?

I am having the same problem. When I try my bank address I get the message that no page found and can not connect. In the 4.xx versions I have had no problems. I am running Win 7 and IE 8. When I run all other browsers ie: ie8, firefox, safari all work ok. If some one can help I would appreciate it as I like all the features in this latest version.

Thanks in advance

The same change has been applied to the latest version 5.00.073. However, the fix seems to correct for the problem for some of users. There might be two different causes for this problem. Still investigating.

I have tried version 5.0.73 and it still did not correct the problem. I went back to 4.12 and it works great. Hope you can fix this problem and I do like the features in the new release. Thanks

I forgot to mention that I also tried 'NI" version and it also did not work.
Thanks again

By the way it seems that the only sites it will not work with are secure sites. Hope that my help you.

Could you try build 5.00.079 from the download page? I've another user who claimed that it fixed the problem for him.
