SlimBrowser - High Memory & "Handle" use - EventID=2019 erro

Post by g121 » Wed Jan 26, 2011 6:50 pm

hi ..

the past while .. a couple of months or so, i've had my PC lose its internet connection after my PC has been running a couple of days. can't connect to internet & lose outlook express connectivity. my PC is wired connected to my router but the wireless connections to my router can still access the internet when i'm down. only a reboot gets my PC back on line.

in the system event log .. i see EventID=2019 "The server was unable to allocate from the system nonpaged pool because the pool was empty." starts to appear right about when i lose internet connectivity.

a little googling for EventID=2019 talks about memory leaks & gives several approachs to debugging to determine the applications which could be the culprits. there was some talk about the "# of handles" being a potential clue as to the problem application.

in the following pictures, we see sbrowser.exe has over 25,000 "handles" more than 10x the # of handles of any other process. the first picture was taken after i had slimbrowser running for approx. 9 hours. picture#2 shows sbrowser.exe has grown to 27,000 "handles" one hour later.

for comparison, i had chrome.exe running during the same time, yet after 9 hours chrome.exe was still well under 1,000 "handles"

in layman's terms,
why does sbrower.exe has such a dramatically higher amount of "handles" & memory usage than any other process?

is sbrowser & it's high memory & "handle" use the likely culprit of my EventID=2019 errors?

if yes, hopfully there is there a fix/workaround?

i've been using SlimBrowser for several years & REALLY like it .. cheers, g121
