no Java?

Post by psps7676 » Fri Feb 07, 2014 9:22 am

Hi - I am new to Slimbrowser, and it looks promising. Except - I cannot log onto my bank and other Places, where Java is needed. The Java formula simply do not come up. Works fine in Chrome, so it must be some setting in Slimbrowser I have to adjust - but which one?

Double check that Java scripts has not been disabled. It is turned on by default but it is easy to turn it off while messing around and looking at the menu items

click Tools:Options:Download Controls
then make sure the box next to Execute Java Applets is checkmarked

if that is not helpful

SB is a GUI replacement for the the Trident engine that is installed and called Internet Explorer on you computer. This means that some of the Internet Options set for Internet Explorer will be used by and affect your use of Slimbrowser.

So run Internet Explorer and browse to your bank and see if IE will run the Java script. If not then you need to adjust your IE settings to allow it to run. Those are found in Internet Options.

if that is not helpful

You may need to download the latest version of java appropriate for your system.

So while running Slimbrowser navigate to the Java webpage and use the Java website feature which selects the download for you by using your browser and system info sent to their website. Install the recommended download.

I am running Windows 8,1, 64 bit - could it have anything to do with this?

and one more thing to try

go to Tools:Options:Advanced

change your Default Rendering Mode using the drop down selector to IE 9

see if that helps
