How can get an IE toolbar to work inside SlimBrowser?

Post by flashpeak » Fri Oct 11, 2013 6:47 pm

As a matter of fact, most toolbars designed for Internet Explorer are not compatible with SlimBrowser. The toolbars that we have verified to be working with SlimBrowser are RoboForm and LastPass toolbar. For the other toolbars, it's more likely than not that they will be more or less incompatible with SlimBrowser if they rely on some features unique to Internet Explorer. We don't recommend users to activate unsupported toolbar in SlimBrowser since it might cause SlimBrowser to hang or crash.

With that said, if you still want to give your favorite toolbar a shot, select the menu "View->Toolbars->Internet Explorer Toolbars->Your Toolbar Name" to activate your toolbar. It'll be up to yourself to find out how compatible it is. If it hangs or crashes SlimBrowser, use the same menu to disable it again.

If somehow you are not able to start SlimBrowser after activating a toolbar, remove the file sbrowser.ini in the folder $appdata\SlimBrowser where $profile is your roaming profile folder. On Windows vista & 7, $appdata is usually c:\users\yourusername\appdata\roaming. On Windows XP, $appdata is usually c:\documents and settings\yourusername\application data .
